Merlion Park – A Park Represents the Symbol of Singapore


Have you heard about Merlion? It is one statue that will amaze you when visiting Singapore. The Merlion is the name of mythical beast with the head of a lion and body of a fish. It is the great picture of the symbol of Singapore. 8.6 meters in high, situated in the at the edge of Singapore river. The new home at Merlion Park is its sanctuary right now.
The materials build the Merlion Statue is from cement fondue, while the small red teacups are used for the eyes. Its skin is made from porcelain plates making it sleek and bright. Its weights are about 40 tons.

Merlion attracts more than 1 million visitors both from domestic and foreign each year. There are 5 official Merlion statues in Singapore that you can find at Sentosa Island, Merlion Park, Mount Faber and the headquarters of Singapore Tourism Board at Orchard Spring Lane.

I would suggest you to visit Merlion Park since you will never regret to have memorable moment with your family or friends.
